Fantastic! "Eureka Mining District, Bonita Mountain" printed at bottom center. "San Juan Co., Silverton, Col." Inc. in Colorado. No. 626, issued for 500 shares to Henry Schnairffer on June 18th, 1883. Signed by president Edwin Fowler and the secretary. Not cancelled. Interesting design with black border and print, green background, and vignette of hand holding up the company title. Printed by WJ Morgan & Co. Folds, light wear. 8 x 10.5" According to the Colorado Daily Chieftain, November 25, 1885, the company owned the Sampson gold mine and mill at Gladstone but were in financial trouble. This company not listed in C&L, but the Sampson mine is. It was situated on the south slope of Bonita Mountain, 8.5 miles from Silverton. Located in 1878 and 1881.
