Rare Reno, Nevada dateline. Location only identified by four ledges: Sunrise Ledge, Badger Ledge, Jennie Ledge and London Ledge. Company owns 1,500 feet of each! # 589 for 100 shares. To AH Allen. Signed by secretary M Lippman and George King vice president. Incorporated 1878. Underground mining vignette. Hatch Little Company of New York printer. Not cancelled. Some wrinkling, 2 pin holes, etc. Still no major issues. There has been some confusion as to its location. The Reno Gazette Journal of October 28, 1879, gives us a start. There is an assessment notice for this company located in Esmeralda from secretary M Lippman. An article in the Boston Globe In 1879 finds they own the Jennie, Reno, Badger, and London lodes. The article goes on to say that a good wagon road and plenty of water, timber and charcoal are available. EJ Thompson is foreman (formerly of the Consolidated Virginia). The Southern Nevada is located in the Santa Fe district which covers the southern Gabbs Valley Range, east of Luning. More information on the district, mine (2 pages) and Lippman (Poeville miner). City:Gabbs, Nye Co. State:Nevada Date:1879
