Engine classification lamp used on the Southern Pacific Railroad. Two, ~5-inch diameter clear Fresnel lenses with green filters behind them. The filters can be raised and lowered with levers on the outside next to the lenses. This lamp has two brackets so it can be mounted facing forward on either the left or right side of the engine. It is about 12 inches tall and 8 inches across, and it is in very good condition. This originally was lit by a kerose; ne lamp, but i has been electrified, and the stub of the wiring is coiled in the underside. You will need to add a plug to make it light up. Inside is an electric bulb which can be turned on and off with a rotating knob between the lenses (that knob probably was originally used to raise and lower the wick). Inside the top cover is a round metal seal with the Adams & Westlake name with numerous dates.
