A McLoughlin Bros. Catalogue print, No. 1525, A Heart Breaking Parting, depicts what appears to be a Spanish-American War scene of a soldier going off to war, with his wife crying and daughter pleading him to stay. This colorful print measures 16 x 20 in. (22 x 26 framed), with a rustic decoratively carved wooden frame. There is age related minor damage that doesn't take away from the attractiveness of the print, including some crackling on the print and wear on the frame. McLoughlin Bros., Inc. was a New York publishing firm that pioneered the systematic use of color printing technologies, particularly between 1858 and 1920.
