This is a WOW specimen. Kunzite is the pink to lilac colored gem variety of the mineral Spodumene. Spodumene is a common mineral in gem-bearing pegmatites, but, only in several localities does it occur in transparent gem form. Kunzite's lovely pink color has made the material increasingly popular in the gemstone market. This large single crystal from the mountains of northeastern Afghanistan features a strong pink color, glassy luster, excellent transparency, and an outstanding natural solution-etched crystal form. Dimensions (cm): 11.3 H x 5 W x 5 D. 551.9 grams. Location: Nuristan Province, Afghanistan
