Fredrick pieces, although not common, can be found. Fredrick was the Comstock's premier jeweler. He arrived in 1868 and probably was working in his brother Isaac's store. By 1872 he can be found running his own business. He billed himself as 'a manufacturing jeweler.' He is found in Virginia City as late as 1883 - well after the Comstock's glory days. More notes on Nye and the jewelers of Virginia are included. This spoon is engraved with 'GPB' with stands for George Parker Barnes. George's sister Ella married into the Harris family and her spoon and his were found in the Gordon Harris Estate. The auction house identified this spoon as c 1870 and George was born on July 13, 1869. More information on the Barnes family is included. City: Virginia, Storey State: Nevada Date: HWAC# 99429
