This model 1884 trapdoor Springfield is the real-deal. S/N 362968 with a birthdate of April, 1887. It has been chrome plated, oil finished, has a blued trapdoor, bayonet complete with scabbard, on a bronze stand. The Federal firearms inspector cartouche is still visible opposite the lock-plate. It is ready for your coat and hats. The bayonet, while in the scabbard, conveniently holds the coat hooks. Chambered for .45-70. The .45 cal. muzzle holds the hat hooks. 74 in. overall length. This firearm is an antique and no attempt has been made to fire this gun to confirm its mechanical integrity. Nor should this gun be fired without the examination by a qualified gunsmith.
