"New Brunswick Ledge" printed to the left of vignette. Inc. March 25, 1863. No. 333, issued for 1 share to DE Edgar in Virginia City, NT in Dec. 1864 (just after statehood was established). Signed by NO Arrington as president and Monroe Thomson as secretary. Not cancelled. Black border and print, eagle vignette. Towne & Bacon print. Folds, separation along one fold. Arrington was co-founder of Stateler & Arrington bank in Virginia City that failed at about this time (Fall 1864). Its failure, mostly due to Stateler, caused the Bank of California to dispatch William Sharon to the Comstock to try and collect debts. While there, he established the first branch of the Bank of California on the Comstock. DE Edgar is listed as a supt. of mining companies in the Collins directory. Monroe Thomson is listed as a broker. The Brunswick Ledge is located 1 mile east off of the main Comstock Ledge.
