No. 932, issued for 1877 to W.H. Hurlburt of Canada Southern Railway. Signed by L.D. Trithill (?) as general manager. Fine condition. This could be considered an early Colorado railroad, though they never got there. Started in the 1860s, the plan was to connect towns along the Missouri River with the mining communities popping up in Colorado (then a territory). When the Kansas Pacific, in 1866, reached Denver, the St. Joseph Co. decided to head northwest to a connection with Union Pacific in central Nebraska. By December 1872, they reached Hastings, Nebraska, 227 miles from St. Joseph. (Prag Collection) City: State: Missouri Date: Inventory# 39370
