Really neat black and white watercolor of a stagecoach hold-up. Scene: forest road with wagon approaching two armed men hiding in wait. Small details evident with horses and figures. Measures 8 3/4" x 6 1/4." Condition: Staining/soiling evident on left side of watercolor, with some noticeable in center. Attached to toned piece of paper with etched "H. Epting 1890." This could refer to Henry J Epting (1860-1911) who lived in San Francisco and worked as a staff artist with West Shore magazine in 1880-98. He committed suicide in Portland on March 11, 1911.
