Bronze Stagecoach on Greenstone by Charles Russell. 20" x 45". Extremely high quality reproduction of Russell's famous stagecoach piece. An advocate of the Northern Plains Indians, Charles Marion Russell (1864-1926) was among many things a true American cowboy. As a night wrangler for the Judith Basin Roundup, Russell had time to observe the cowboys at work during the day, and to sketch and document all the activities and excitement of the cow camp. He continued to work as a cowboy and wrangler for 11 years before retiring to become a full-time artist. This museum quality bronze is hand casted in the traditional Òlost waxÓ method using the highest quality of bronze. The sculpture is one of a kind, handmade by highly talented artisans and attached to a beveled marble base with a gilded plaque of the bronze title and name of the artist.
