Freight bill receipt from the Steamer Chrysopolis, the Sacramento River's most glamorous paddle wheeler (California Steam Navigation Company), ran during Gold Rush era. The Chrysopolis was the finest on the inland waters of the Pacific Coast. It went up to Sacramento well loaded with live freight, as well as a goodly quantity of merchandise, and nearly five hundred passengers, and three hundred and fifty tons of freight.
