Scott U58. Issued 1864-65. Octagonal postmark dates the piece to 1869. Side wheeler. In May of 1869 Captain John C. Dowty of New Orleans chartered the Stonewall for the New Orleans-Grand Ecore trade. In October the Stonewall was scheduled to go south. She caught fire and beached. Postmark dated Jan 8, 1869. (Milgram, K-532a)
