(The steamer Chauncey M. Depew was used as a U. S. Army boat in World War II. Built 1913. Bath, Maine, Bath Iron Works. Purchased by Hudson River Day Line, reconditioned, equipped and operated 1925-1940. Requisitioned 1942, U.S. War Shipping Administration. Sold by government after World War II.)
