Steerage ticket, Havana to Aspinwall, on the trip of the SSCA from New York to Aspinwall before the return journey in which the ship sank. The passenger receipts and a few tickets were found in Purser Hull's safe. The only tickets found were Havana to Aspinwall, and this is one of the few steerage tickets of the group of perhaps ten readable tickets and another ten or so that were not readable, and may be the "back" of the tickets that may have split into two parts along a laminate surface in card stock. This lot includes what may be a "back of ticket" portion. This ticket's back portion is written on with black ink, and appears to be a financial note of some sort, as the last legible word is "sterling", in possible reference to British or similar monetary system.

Provenance: SS Central America Collection
