This stereoview is of the gallows frame at the Boom Mine in Tombstone, Arizona C. 1903 by Olaf P. Larson. The mount is light pink to buff color front and back. Hand written in the borders are:"Olaf P. Larson/Stereographist" left side, "Moscow, Idaho" right side and below the right image is :"The great gallows frame at /the Boom Mine Tombstone, Ariz" in ink. No details printed on the back. Apparently, Larson worked his craft and mounted these photos while on the road. He started as a teenager working a studio in Moscow, Idaho. In 1903 he visited the gold fields in Tonopah and Goldfield, Nevada. Later he worked in Arizona based out of Bisbee in 1903. He did work closer to home by photographing Yellowstone N.P. and parts of Wyoming by 1905. This piece is not listed in the Rowe catalog. A rare find. 7 in. X 3.5 in. Sharp focus, good contrast, no foxing, very good condition. (ref. Arizona Stereographs 1865-1930 by Rowe pp. 114, 115, 280). Tombstone Arizona
