This lot has two stereoviews of miners one mile underground in the Wilson Mine in Metcalf, Arizona, C.1903. On the left edge "Underwood & Underwood Publishers/ New York, London, Toronto-Canada, Ottawa-Kansas" on the right edge "Works and Studios/Arlington, N J., Westwood, N.J." grey mount front and back. "6146- Drilling copper ore one mine -the Wilson Mine, Metcalf, Arizona" on the back of both. Both views depict miners with hand tools underground. Good color contrast and sharp focus. Excellent condition. One is ink stamped from "Amsterdam". (ref. Arizona Stereographs 1865-1930 by Rowe, p.290). This area of Arizona has produced some of the largest deposits of copper ore in the world. Arizona c. 1903
