Large group of mixed sterling silver flatware from the historical Holabird family of California. The group includes soup spoons, butter knives, salad forks, dinner forks, knives and some serving pieces. The net silver contained is 89.52 troy ounces. The following engraved initials are for the following families: WHH William H. Holabird; HGH Harry Gillette Holabird; TMH Timothy Marshall Holabird. WHH was a well known southern California real estate developer, acquisitions agent for SPRR, and general project financier, such as for the famous Del Coronado Hotel in San Diego. Civil War veteran, also designed at least two guns early in his career.
HGH was son of WHH, brother of Russell. Active in real estate business in socal. TMH life long real estate appraiser. President of Real Estate Appraiser's Assn in socal for several years.
