Vignette of two draped women on either side of framed odometer with company name. Company founded as Stewart & Clark Co. in 1905 by John K. Stewart. Made speedometers used in Ford Model T. Stewart joined with Edgar Bassick in 1912 to make vehicle instruments and horns. Bassick owned Alemite Co. and Stewart bought Warner Instrument Co; name changed to the Stewart-Warner Corp. Started in Chicago and kept expanding until it covered one million square feet and 6 floors. Employed 6000 people at its' peak. Also manufactured radios and refrigerators.
