A mining claim for land along the San Joaquin River in Central California handwritten in script on parchment paper. Signed by F. W. Hopkins, who claimed 160 acres of land, "on the West Side of the San Joaquin River, bordered on North by a Slough putting out of the San Joaquin River, about five miles above Bonsel & Scott's Ferry. On the East by a lot claimed by C.H. Norden on the South by the road running from Bonsel & Scott's Ferry to San Hose (sic)." Dated: Stockton December 27th 1850. About 7.5" x 4.25".
