This lot contains two block print engravings from the Mexican-American War. The first is a block engraving of Storming the Chapultepec Johnson & Miles Publishers at 5 in. x 7.5 in. A second block print is of the American Troops into the Capital City with the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe, 4 in. X 6.5 in. This Basilica may be the oldest church in the Americas and is still used today in North Mexico City. A list of officers from this battle in Mexico includes M. Rosecrants First Lieutenant and U.S. Grant Second Lieutenant.
