A collection of periodicals from "The Summer of Love" and beyond. Some of these items were on loan to the DeYoung Museum in San Francisco, to enhance their "Summer of Love: Art, Fashion and Rock & Roll." Included in this group of counterculture publications is The I.D. Deadly Excess Volume 1 Number 1 with Jefferson on the front page and Big Brother & the Holding Company. This one is in not great but still collectable condition. Next, we have Oracle Volume 1 Number 5. This is a collector's item due to the fact that it's advertising the first Human Be-In on January 14, 1967 at Golden Gate Park Polo Fields. This one is in pretty decent shape. Next, Oracle Volume 1 Number 11, 1967. This one is in REALLY nice condition. To accompany these last two publications, is a CD-ROM of a complete recreation of the entire run of the newspaper. Lastly, we have a February 26, 1976 issue of Rolling Stone Magazine, celebrating 10 years since the Summer of Love. The cover features Grace Slick Jerry Garcia, Steve Miller , John Cipollina and Dan Hicks. A little rough around the edges, but also VERY collectable.
A unique, historical lot. Please see photos for more details. [ San Francisco California
