Lot of 4. 1) 1877 billhead for the Pacific Ice Company, Jacob Hoehn, Agent, Sacramento. Agency of Summit Mineral Water. Vignette of horse pulling an ice wagon. Billed to the State Library for 96 lbs. ice. 2) Two Central Pacific Railroad stereoviews: Castle Peak and Yuba River from Summit Valley (by Alfred A. Hart); and Summit Valley, the head-waters of the Yuba River, Donner Peak and Pass in the distance (by Thomas Houseworth). 3) Book page with five Lake Tahoe illustrations including Zephyr Cove and Cave Rock. Summit Springs was a health resort located above Donner Lake (near Lake Tahoe). The springs were located south-south east of the Soda Springs Station on the Southern Pacific Railroad. Jacob Hoehn bottled his mineral water in beautiful long necked applied top soda bottles in the 1880’s. See Volume One of the Nevada Bottle Book for more info. FH also discusses why he believes the Tahoe Springs soda bottle has its origins at Carnelian Bay (at Lake Tahoe).
