Spectacular high grade specimen of tetrahedrite ore from the Sunshine Mine. 1500-2000 oz/ton. Approx. 9 x 6 x 4" The Sunshine Mine is located between the cities of Kellogg and Wallace in northern Idaho. It has been one of the world's largest and most profitable silver mines, having produced over 360 million ounces of silver by 2001. Tetrahedrite is a copper sulfosalt mineral with a complex crystal structure, commonly found in hydrothermal veins and metamorphic deposits.
