Knights of Pythias Sword issued to Georege T. Nugent 1890s. This sword is marked for the fraternity of The Knights of Pythias, a benevolent society before the federal plan of Social Security. It was presented to "George T. Nugent" vintage 1890's. The sword is made by Henderson and Ames of Kalamazoo, Mich. It is 39 in. overall length with scabbard. Beautifully etched with the shield of the American flag. "UR" on the back of the guard indicating Uniformed Guard. "F.C.B." is the moto of the Knights- friendship, charity, benevolence. "KP" for Knights of Pythias. The grip has the lion's head and eel cloth wire wrapped grip. Very good condition.
