Lot of two different advertising booklets for this laxative remedy invented by Reno druggist RE Queen. "Nature's Pleasant Laxative." Manufactured by the California Fig Syrup Co., San Francisco, Cal., Louisville, KY, and New York, NY. One booklet (5 x 3") features a picture of the label on the reverse. The other (5.25 x 3.75") has illustrations of Yosemite Falls, the California Coast, and buildings at the 1894 California Midwinter Exposition. Richard Queen developed this remedy in about 1880 while he operated a drug store in Reno with partner Pinniger. Later, Queen left to San Francisco to manufacture the Syrup of Figs.
