Two early Tahlequah covers. Tahlequah was chosen as the capital of Cherokee nation. 1) 1857 3c ScU8 entire. Postmarked with Tahlequah, Ark. Has manuscript month and day. Includes a letter that was difficult to remove. In 1857 this was still considered part of Arkansas Territory. 2) Manuscript 1865. Addressed to Col. James M. Bell, Webbers Falls, Canadian District, Cherokee Nation.
