Number 366 for 7 shares issued to Daniel B. Curtis January 14, 1839. One of the earliest railroads to be established in Massachusetts, United States. It was chartered by the state in 1835 as a branch of the Boston and Providence Railroad running between Mansfield and Taunton, Massachusetts. The railroad opened up new markets for Taunton's notable ironmaking industry and would lead to the rapid development of new businesses in the coming decades. All Black, no vignette, embossed seal. Signed Thomas Wales president. He was also a director of the Western railroad. Cancelled. Extremely nice!
