Gold Hill Mining District, Storey County, N.T. (printed at the top of the certificate). Inc. April 1863 under the laws of Nevada Territory. Dateline Gold Hill, N.T., July 15th, 1863. No. 85, issued for 15 shares to F.L. Grosuenor. Signed by president N.A.H. Ball and secretary Geo. G. Burnett. Not cancelled. Large vignette of allegorical woman (left side) and small vignette of dog next to safe. Enterprise Print (Samuel Clemens/Mark Twain was working at the Enterprise at this time). 25 cent IR stamp attached sideways beneath logo. Deep folds, paperclip stain. Not in Filer. Listed in the Collins 1864 Comstock directory as having 1,000 ft. in the Gold Hill District, office on Maynard's Block in Gold Hill, and Burnett still secretary. N.A.H. Ball is listed as a cashier with the Gold Hill banking firm of Maynard & Flood. Burnett is listed as a stock broker and mining recorder. There was also a Tecumseh mine in the nearby Palmyra District.
