This knife was made by custom knife maker Ted Dowell of Bend, Oregon; (1929-2012). It appears to be a "lightweight" (at 2.4 oz.) made with D-2 or 440-C steel and rosewood scales. It is a tang blade with two brass rivets. A makers mark TMD is in an oversized "button" on the left side. The blade is highly polished in a drop point with the rosewood scales that fade at the back. New, never used with matching sheath also with the TMD logo at the throat. 7.50 in. overall length, 3.375 in. drop point blade highly polished. No other markings on the ricasso. The sheath shows signs of being worn and repaired with a copper rivet at the throat. Ted was a founding father of the Knife Makers Guild and first president of that guild and Hall of Famer of Cutlery Magazine. C. 1970s. Please see photo for details.
