Lot of 25: large and vastly mixed group of stocks from all over the nation. The earliest certificate is from the the "Chicago & Milwaukee Telegraph Company" from 1879, next is the "Overland Telephone & Telegraph Company," of Syracuse NY, from 1883 (there are 2), and then the superb "Bodie and Hawthorne Telephone and Telegraph Company," from 1892 (very rare). This specific document is to J.M. Hansen, Number 86, for 10 shares, dated December 8, 1892. Ink-cancelled on front. It is signed by R.L. McCarty, secretary, and Thos. H. Leggett, president. the reverse has assessment stamps (some ink bleed-through) and was signed over to B.H. Chichester. There is the "Commercial Cable Company," dated February 4,1897. Included in this collection are the "Citizens' Mutual Telephone & Telegraph Co." from 1905, the "Standard Telephone & Telegraph Company," from 1905, "Consolidated Printing Telegraph Company," from 1910, "The Mackay Companies," dated 1924 from New York. This particular document has a receipt with (2) revenue stamps attached. There are (2) "The Pacific Wireless telephone and Telegraph Company," from 1902, (2) "Paulsen Wireless Telephone and Telegraph Company," from 1909, the "United States Telephone & Telegraph Co." from 1904, and the "United Wireless Telegraph Company," from 1907. There is a "Mason Valley Telephone and Telegraph Company" piece that is unissued, in mint condition. There are then multiple copies from the "Postal telegraph and Cable Corporation," (3) from 1938, "Western Union Telegraph Company," (3) from 1955, and (2) from "American District Telegraph Company," (ADT) from 1968 and 1971. The collection of vignette artwork, the intricate border printing, and the variety of colors are beautiful. These documents vary in condition, from good to excellent condition. Some do exhibit fold creases, minor tears, and minor stains. Please inspect. Overall a wonderful group. (Prag Collection)
