This telephone pole cross beam is 46 in. X 3 in.x 5 in. and does not appear to have been used as there are not any other holes driled for mounting. It came from the Virginia and Truckee Railroad Depot and Pierce Powell claims it was inside the building when he purchased it and was one piece that never made it on the rail car to be installed. it has never seen the sun. It carries 6 threaded studs for insulators and they are anchored with square cut nails. The cross beam is painted a brown-red paint or preservative. It is highly unusual to find these in unweathered condition. Perfect display for insulator collectors. State: City: Date: c1900s
