Two bold red S&A cancels, one over a 2 cent adhesive stamp. Not signed by Douglass. Spindle cancel. Douglass was a major mining figure on the Comstock, operating a mine and milling operation in Lyon County (which he bought from Birdsall), as well as the Dayton, Sutro, and Carson Valley Railroad, which ran from the Dayton to Carson Valley and serviced Sutro.
