Stateler & Arrington, Bankers, check issued March 5, 1864, to Pat Brophy. Signed by Charles Strong (as supt. for the Gould & Curry). Two cent adhesive revenue attached at upper left. Cut cancelled. Not endorsed by Brophy. The Brophy Mine was located in the Flowery District, adjacent to Virginia City. On May 19, 1888, E&MJ reports that work is being resumed in the mine and ore is being extracted from the main tunnel. An incline in the North Bonanza will help them intersect the vein in the Brophy at low cost.
