The hard winter of 1911 found Shoshone Mike and his family settled down in Little High Rock Canyon in northern Washoe County, Nevada, until warmer weather came. Four sheep men rode into the canyon and did not live to tell about it. One of the last (if not the last) Indian uprisings. These two volumes tell the story of the massacre of the sheep herders, the incredible chase through the Northern desert and the killing of all the adults in the final battle! 1) The Indian Massacre of 1911 by Effie Mona Mack (signed by her) takes a more factual look. 2) Frozen Grass (a real page turner) by Kenneth Scott takes a more story approach. 3) Shoshone Mike by Frank Bergon. Together they make an important contribution to this final Indian uprising.
