Unusual to see a Bodie newspaper from this time period--most seem to be 1880s. Two issues: No. 11, March 2, 1907 and No. 37. September 11, 1909. "Make Mono a free and independent state-in spirit, if not in fact." Great articles. List of fares for the Bodie, Mono Lake & Lundy Stage Line. Or an article describing how the superintendent and engineer of the Standard Mining Co. are visiting Virginia City to inspect the Ward and C&C Shaft, which "means much for the future of the old California town as it means that deep working is to be resumed and the lower levels unwatered...On the 1000 foot level a long drift had been run and the old time miners of Bodie, who are now working on the Comstock state that it is within their memory of a good low grade ledge being encountered." Or that the Bodie miners won a tug of war contest with miners of Lucky Boy. Ads for Seller's Saloon, Elite Saloon, Bodie Brewery, Occidental Hotel, Virginia Assays Office and more. 22" x 15" 4 pages each. Toned and very brittle with pieces chipped off.
