Between 1885 and 1915, the Liberty Bell made seven trips to various expositions and celebrations. Each time, the bell traveled by rail, making a large number of stops along the way so that local people could view it. This photograph was meant to celebrate the Bell's stop along the Illinois Central Rail Road. The Bell stopped at Chicago and Centralia on September 13th and Centralia and Peace on September 14th. The photographer is identified as J.K. Stevens & Son Co. The images captures the photograph of the Bell, information on the rail road stops, a rail road spike and an engraved hammer presented by George P. Harris & Bro. of Chicago. The photograph is a good condition and has very little wear. The photograph measures 3.80" x 5.60" and the mat measures 4.20" x 6.45" State:Illinois City:Chicago Date:1893 ID#44246
