Inc. in Colorado in 1881. No. 786, issued for 50 shares to E. Moeser on March 20th, 1883. Signed by president Joseph Sheafor and secretary Joseph T. Ward. Not cancelled. Very ornate patriotic border. Two vignettes: eagle with patriotic shield and miners hoisting up bucket of ore while others work below. Printed by Hamilton & Curl, Topeka. 8" x 10" Some toning. Very nice. This company has been previously attributed to Leadville by many, but the company owned claims in the Monarch and Chalk Creek Districts (Chaffee County) and the Quartz Creek District (Gunnison County). President Sheafor had interests in other Gunnison County mines also. [Ref: History of the State of Kansas, 1883, pg. 576] Ken Prag Collection
