Number 965 for 100 shares to Gilbert Woods in 1902. Signed by AB Dodge and John W Corson. Corson must have named this company after himself! Incorporated in 1901 in Arizona. The 1902 United States Investor reports Corson had 50 placer mining claims on 20 acres and that Corson was alleged to have several years experience mining in Alaska and had been in Nome since gold was discovered there. Dodge was the treasurer of the Leighton Machine Works in New Hampshire. A local New Hampshire paper reported, "...the Corson boom is a creature of skillful advertising." Three placer mining vignettes. Outside of two pinholes, quite nice! (Al Adams Gold Rush Memorabilia Collection) Date: 1902 Location: Nome, Alaska HWAC# 58321
