Incorp. 1880 Colorado. #236, I/U, 100 shares @ $1.00 par issued April 1891. Signed sect and pres. Black, embossed seal (very crisp imprint), vignette Mountain w/cabin men w/horse drawn carts, C&C Litho Co. printer. Whitaker Wright made a name for himself speculating in Pennsylvania oil and moved west in 1879 to Leadville, Colorado. Papers described him as representing Philadelphia capitalists, on the lookout for promising mining properties. Wright purchased a series of claims adjoining a famous Leadville mine and floated the claims as the Denver City Consolidated Silver Mining Company. Very little silver ore was ever brought to the surface. The company owned interest in the Denver City, Shamus O'Brien and Quadrilateral claims on Fryer Hill in the California district. Certificate is considered rare and is very near AU except for folds.
