$100 First Mortgage Gold bond, Cert. #41, issued in 1883. Signed by Willard Davis as president. Twenty seven coupons attached at the bottom. The company's headquarters were in Topeka, Kansas and Lexington, Ky. Six miles from Pittsburg, Colorado was Dark Canon where the company's Silver King mine was located. The Silver King was a large vein of galena in cretaceous shales. Ore grades were from 10-200 oz. silver per ton with some samples also showing 1 oz. of gold (E.M.J. Vol. 38, 1884, pp. 88).
