c. 1896-97. Mining and Milling Machinery. The Largest Supply House in the West. Merchants Publishing Co., Printers and Binders, Denver, Colo. 432 pages. We believe this to be the first catalog issued by the Denver company, which officially became The Mine & Smelter Supply Co. in 1896. Founder Eben Smith wanted to increase the ore recovery rates in the Cripple Creek area to keep those towns strong. This copy belonged to "P.K. Hudson/ '99 Mines" Hudson graduated in 1899 from the Colorado School of Mines; his thesis focused on a gold mine in Cripple Creek. Condition: boards and some pages loose, but still attached. Light toning and soiling. Stains to covers. Rarity: [iii]City: DenverCounty: DenverState: CODate:
