Inc. in Colorado. Low cert. #4, issued to Ozias Bailey for 50 shares in 1884 and signed by Bailey as president. S.J. Richards also signs as secretary. Three vignettes of miners underground at top center, dog and safe at right and more miners at left. "The mines belonging to this company are Situated on the Burro Mountains, Grant Co. New Mexico" printed under the vignette. Mining began in the Burro Mountains in 600 AD with Native Americans mining turqoise. Underground mining began here in the 1860's. The district contained a lot of low grade copper (mindat.org). This is a very nice certificate and very rare. We do not believe we have seen this one before and it's in very fine, uncancelled condition.
