Incorp. April, 1899 Silverton, Co. #69 of 292, I/U, $500 First Mortgage, 6% gold bearer bond issued August 1, 1899, due 1919. Signed by pres. and treas. Green border , black printing, "$500" green underprint, top center vignette 4-4-0 left to right w/pullman cars, embossed corp. seal bottom left, 17 coupons attached. VF cond some discoloration at the folds.
Built buy the owners of the Gold King Mine. Originally thought to be built by Otto Mears, he only built two SNRR and the SRR after which he became disinterested in Colorado RR. Mears turned down the Gold King request to build, but Mears did eventually own the SGNRR which became the second longest lived RR of the SIlverton area.
