1) Dauntless Mining Company of Leadville, Colorado. 1880. Rare. Incorporated 1879. #682. Uncancelled. Issued for 100 shares to WD Huntley. Signed by Chas. W. Selser as president and W.D. Huntley as secretary . Central vignette of four miners working underground. Black print on creme paper with fancy border and company seal bottom left. Lithographers: Breuker & Kessler, Philadelphia. Condition: fair with two rips. Company shares officers with Compromise Mining Company. A Leadville Daily Herald article from October 7, 1882, describes a shareholder meeting where secretary Huntley says a shaft has been sunk but is now full of water since the old superintendent left with the engine and boiler. 2) Little Maud Mining Company. 1882. No. 675, issued to Buamgarten(?). Signed by president C.E. Rodgers and secretary Charles D. Powell. Gold border and underprint. Three vignettes. According to Balch, the company owned two claims in Boulder County with two shafts (each 100 feet) and limited development. 3) Little Chief Mining Company. 1890. "Location of Mines, Fryer Hill, Leadville, Col." printed at upper left. Issued for 100 shares Babcock. Signed by Thomas (?) (president) and Earle (secretary). Vignette of seven miners working various jobs underground. According to Swift, this was one of the richest mines on Fryer Hill, with ore bodies up to 80 ft. thick.
