1) Early bank check identified as L. H. Hershfield & Co. Bankers. Sept. 1866. 2) Check of L. H. Hershfield & Bro. Bankers, Sept. 1874, made out to Jesse F. Taylor, Treasurer. RN-D1 orange imprinted revenue stamp. 3) Hershfield & Bro. check, Sept. 1874 made out to Bonner & Welch. Orange adhesive R15 2c Revenue stamp. Edward Bonner and Daniel J. Welch were pioneer traders in the northeastern territories of Montana, Idaho, and Washington, first to the Indians then to the miners.
