Henry Meiggs Williams, also called Enrique Meiggs was a disgraced San Francisco businessman who succeeded in reestablishing his career building railroads in Chile and in Peru. Three of his projects are commemorated on these medals. C. E. Bryant designed a popular series of medals for most of his projects.
