Three wallets collected by Al Adams from the South. Each is leather and all early. One of the wallet still contains a tattered folded up five dollar Confederate note from the September 1861 series. No names inside the wallet. A second wallet has the initials D. B. On the outside. There are silver enforced edge tips with silversmith marks. This wallet appears to date to the 1850's to 1860. There's a small envelope for change or stamps. The third wallet which is the worst condition of the three is very unique and very early probably coming from colonial times. The inside of the pockets are lined with old newspapers One of them is the North Carolina Gazette ,clearly a pre-1800 edition. One of the other pockets has notes from 1797. A choice early wallet that would've contained colonial currency. This is an excellent numismatic collectible for the early currency collector.
