Three albums of photographs of American financed mining operations in Cuba, circa 1910. These remarkable albums containing more than 100 photographs each of three different mining operations in Cuba just after 1900. Each of these operations was American financed. Volume one are mines at Mayari, Mayari Mines Development Company from 1909. Volume two is an album of the mines operation at Ponupo, Cuba from the same period, and volume three is the Spanish American Iron Company mines. These albums are remarkable. They show the progress of development of the mines and the mining camps. There are photos of underground workings, external mine development, railroad development, railroad from mine to mill to coastal shipping ports. This is an important photographic archive of the American mining industry in Cuba long before the political take over in 1960. The albums are approximately 10 x 15" each.
