Lot of three stock certificates from claims located north of the Rhyolite townsite. 1) Spearhead Bullfrog Mining Company. Incorporated under the laws of the state of Delaware. #A69. Uncancelled. Issued for 1000 shares to Rhodes Sinkler Butcher on Jan. 29, 1906. Signed by Arthur Brock (Vice President) and C. Heller (Treasurer). Printed by American Banknote Co., Philadelphia. Litho. Red border with vignette of farmer and huntsman with ships and train in background; resembles Delaware state seal. Endorsed on back. Folds and wrinkling around edges. Pen markings upper right corner. 2) Another from Spearhead Bullfrog Mining Company. This one has a blue border. #135. Uncancelled. Issued for 100 shares to A.H. Geuting (?) on Feb. 5, 1906. Same signatures and vignette. No signatures on reverse. Folds, otherwise bright certificate. The Spearhead was located on Bonanza Mountain, but there are no production details 3) Peerless Bullfrog Mining Company. Incorporated under the Laws of State of South Dakota. #2544. Hand cancelled. Issued for 1000 shares to D.A. Nelson on Dec. 6th, 1906. Signed by A. Robertson (president) and J.M. Howorth (assistant secretary). Orange border. Vignette of 9 miners working underground. Printed by New York Bank Note Co. (steel plate stock form). Reverse is endorsed with some ink smears. Folds, light toning. The Peerless group was located just north of the Denver. However, the company was relatively worthless. They also owned the Elkhorn MC property west of the Montgomery Shoshone and Amethyst Bullfrog. This mine was listed in 1911 as being one of the most egregious swindles in the past seven years with 2,000,000 in capitalization (The World's Work, pg. 14112-14121, 1911).City: RhyoliteCounty: NyeState: NVDate:
